On successful completion of this driver training course the candidate will be able to drive a Category B+E (Car with trailer over 750kg).
You may wish to do this in order to drive a vehicle towing either a trailer, horsebox or caravan.
Your driving test will be on the final day of your training
The driver training course will include:
- Minimum course 8 hours, which includes your driving test
- Either a one day course or spread over two days, depending on reversing experience
- On the road driving tuition with an ADS instructor
- Manoeuvring exercises
Driving Test
Your driving test will be booked for you and will normally take place on the final day of your course. The test will be carried out at a local Department of Transport Test Centre. A written report will be given to you at the end of the test.
Eligible candidates must be:
- Aged 17 and over
- Full driving licence
A Driver who passed a car driving test before 1st January 1997 – should have B+E on their license and could drive any of the above combinations and won’t need another test!
